Salary R 33 817.00 - R 42 544.00 (no commission) + secondary health, study and wellness benefits

Full-time · Voys SA Office

Our purpose is to establish a new standard of excellence in customer service.

About the Company

We pride ourselves immensely on the product we provide and the service we deliver it with. We believe that all South Africans can expect, and receive, consummately professional, world-class customer service.

We offer exceptional telephone services to businesses. With our telephone system in the cloud, we offer South African businesses the flexibility to work where and how they want and manage everything themselves. We call it Freedom.

About the Job

As a Channel Sales Specialist, your primary responsibility is to identify, close, and onboard new resellers and wholesale partners across South Africa. You'll be the key driver of channel growth, building and nurturing strong, long-term relationships with partners to help them succeed and, in turn, drive revenue growth.

In this role, you’ll be fully responsible for generating your own leads and building your own sales pipeline. Using your existing network and proactive outreach, you’ll identify and engage potential partners, understand their needs, and advise them on the best solution using Voys’ cloud-based phone system.

You’ll manage the entire sales process: from first contact and proposal through to sign-up, onboarding, and ongoing account management. It’s your responsibility to ensure that new partners are onboarded smoothly and continue to get the most value from our service. You'll also handle any cancellation requests with a focus on retaining partners wherever possible.

During onboarding, you’ll be expected to take initiative, learn quickly, and actively drive your development. While you’ll have access to supportive peers and resources, there won’t be step-by-step hand-holding: you’ll need to be comfortable figuring things out independently.

Once you're fully up to speed (typically within 3–6 months), your days will be full: expect to send a high volume of emails and spend a significant amount of time on calls and partner visits. The workload is fast-paced and demanding, so you must be prepared for that kind of daily rhythm.

This job is not for everyone. You’re required to meet your targets without direct managerial supervision. It’s your responsibility to uphold Voys’ standards for yourself and your team members.

What you'll be responsible for

  • Develop and implement a go-to-market channel sales strategy for the South African telecommunications market, aligning with national growth targets.

  • Identify, close, and manage high-potential wholesale and reseller partners in both urban and underserved regions.

  • Collaborate with marketing, product, and customer success teams to deliver a seamless partner and end-customer experience.

  • Report on partner sales targets, KPIs, and growth initiatives.

  • Analyse and share past and current market trends, competitor activities, and regulatory developments to identify growth opportunities and risk mitigation strategies.

  • Adhering to full compliance with local partner contracts, ICASA regulations, and other industry standards.

  • Launch and oversee regional partner marketing campaigns, sales incentives, and joint events to drive awareness and lead generation.

  • Willingness and availability to attend industry-relevant networking events.

  • Availability for partner and prospect onsite visits if and where needed.

  • Proactively making suggestions concerning the ideal setup for the partner based on their specific situation and needs. Including product and feature developments.

  • Actively sharing insights gained and knowledge with colleagues.

  • Proactively assisting partners with their questions, issues, and requests.

  • Building lasting relationships with our partner base.

Minimum Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Telecommunications, or a related field (Honours degree preferred).

  • 5+ years' experience in channel sales, partner management, or business development within the telecommunications or ICT sector.

  • Proven success managing indirect sales channels, especially in the South African or broader African market.

  • Strong understanding of telecom products and services, such as VoIP, fibre, mobile solutions, PBX, cloud communications, etc.

  • Excellent relationship management and B2B negotiation skills.

  • Proficiency with CRM tools (e.g., HubSpot, Salesforce) and a data-driven approach to tracking performance.

  • Ability to work independently, travel locally as needed, and lead partners toward mutually beneficial outcomes.

  • Knowledge of regulatory and compliance frameworks in the South African telecoms environment.

About You

You’re already based in Cape Town, and consider yourself a great conversationalist. You enjoy making complicated situations simple and painless to understand. This means you’re a great problem-solver. You have highly-tuned senses of compassion and empathy, and a drive to help others, wholesale partners, and colleagues alike constantly. You pride yourself on doing excellent work and thrive on getting sh** done! Your “can-do” mentality prepares you for meeting the set targets.

You have an eye for good business and a nose for bullsh*t. You’re not afraid to share what you know, and you welcome constructive feedback. You thrive on it. You’re also willing to unlearn what you know when the situation calls for it. We’re looking for potential colleagues who have no problem adapting to newness. This can be the newness of the tools, programmes, and systems we use. This can be a newness to how our organisation is structured (Holacracy). Whatever the newness, you have a willingness to adapt. You’re also passionate about continually finding and implementing ways to improve.

Your word is your honour - the team and our partners will be able to rely on you doing exactly what you say you’ll do, when you say you’ll do it. You take full ownership of everything you do. Being organised, diligent, and working methodically comes naturally to you.
