Don’t like getting your hands dirty? This job is not for you. Like your fellow finance colleagues, you will be responsible for most things financial at the South African branch of Voys, from basic bookkeeping to financial administration work.
We’re looking for a very self-managed and self-motivated individual. Working autonomously is what you’re good at. Not only that, you thrive in it. You’ll be juggling operational responsibilities, while at the same time keeping sight of the big picture and supporting your team as needed.
Your ability to be a good team player will be key to your success. You can execute all the above while being ‘firm but fair’.
Good ol’ bookkeeping
Accounts Payable & Creditor Control GL accounts
Assist with AR collections and customer queries when required
From time to time, you will need to do bank reconciliations
Telephonic and email collections
Resolving debtor queries
Reconcile debtor accounts
Processing credit notes, when and where applicable
Attending to accounts inbox
Follow up with suppliers re: accuracy of bills or bills not received
Resolving supplier queries
Reconciling supplier accounts
Processing supplier invoices
Processing supplier payments
Importing daily bank statements
Reconciling daily bank transactions in Xero
Punctual
Proactive
Good communication skills, both internal and external
Team player
Must be able to alert teammates on improvements
Flexible
Updating supplier database in Xero
Update email addresses of customer “bounced” emails
Matric with Accounting as a subject. An accounting /Financial diploma would be advantageous
3 - 5 years of relevant experience with online accounting software
Understanding of basic accounting principles
Proactive and consistent in handling routine tasks
Self-motivated, ability to execute tasks autonomously
There is an 11-member strong finance team globally. Peter, Shihaam, Melody, Natalie, and Helen are currently processing and overseeing the finance-related responsibilities for the South African branch. Peter and 6 NL colleagues are based in Groningen at our headquarters. You will be required to collaborate and share some related finance matters with all the relevant stakeholders within the organisation.
Salary: R 20 000 per month + benefits
We have an awesome office in Jamieson Street, Gardens. Once you have gained sufficient experience, you will have the option to work hybrid once your 6-month probation period has been completed, in the office.
